JAMMU, Oct 14: State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) J&K in collaboration with Bhartiya Jain Sangathan (BJS) J&K, SS Jain Sabha J&K, Jain Taruni Mandal and Jain Yuvak Sangh today organized the Online Organ Donation Pledge Camp for the general public at Namah, Shri Vimal Muni Jain Bhawan in Bahu Plaza area of Jammu.
The Drive was inaugurated by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Anand Jain in presence of Director Ayush J&K Dr Mohan Singh and Joint Director SOTTO J&K Dr Sanjeev Puri. Jeev Daya president Sandeep Jain also graced the occasion. The dignitaries were felicitated by the office bearers of BJS and SS Jain Sabha.
On the occasion, Anand Jain inspired all by registering himself for Organ Donation. Sandeep Jain (president, BJS J&K) requested everyone to pledge for organ donation in this special drive.
Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission under Ayushman Bhav has launched a national portal for registering for Organ Donation. Anyone can get an organ donor card by clicking the link https://notto.abdm.gov.in/ with the adhaar linked mobile. Many persons from the Jain community and others participated in this drive and became organ donors.
SOTTO staff Anshu Sharma, Media Consultant, Irfan Ahmed, Transplant Coordinator, Nisha Kumari, Programme Assistant and Ashwani Kumar coordinated the registration.
On the occasion, J&K Ayush Department organized an Ayurvedic medical camp for all present in the camp with free consultation and medicines.
Dr Sanjeev Puri informed that such camps are being organized under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to raise awareness about Human Organ/Tissue Donation and motivate people to pledge to donate organs after death.
