Orientation prog for Camp Directors concludes; SASB sets up helpline, control room

SRINAGAR, June 19: A four day orientation / training programme for senior civil and police officers who have been appointed as Camp Directors and Additional Camp Directors to manage arrangements in the entire Shrine area concluded here last evening.
Arrangements were made for these officers to hear and interact with V K Singh, Additional Director General of Police; Maj. General Arvind Dutta, GOC, Victor Force; SJM Jeelani, IGP (Kashmir); Showkat Aijaz Bhat, Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal; Bashir Ahmed Khan, Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag; Suresh Yadav, DIG, BSF; S.K. Parth, DIG, CRPF, Srinagar (North); Bashir Ahmed, DIG, SDRF; Mohd Akbar Dar, Deputy Director, Fire and Emergency Services.
V.K. Singh, Additional Director General of Police (Security) while interacting with the officers, sensitized them about the security issues. He also spoke on “emotional intelligence” which would be helpful to the officers in managing the stress and dealing with the people in difficult circumstances.
Maj. General Arvind Dutta, GOC, Victor Force advised the officers to have close liaison with all the agencies involved in making the Yatra arrangements and assured them of the Army’s full cooperation on all occasions. IGP (Kashmir) stressed the need to map the whole area as soon as they reached their designated Camps and particularly inspect the facilities relating to sanitation, health, communication, Control Room etc. so that they get familiarized with each and every facility available in their area of operation.
Earlier, the officers were briefed on various aspects of the Yatra by P K Tripathi, Chief Executive officer; Jitendra K Singh, Additional Chief Executive Officer; R.K. Pandita, General Manager (Works); Jalid Riyaz Banday, General Manager (Sanitation) and Ram Singh, Financial Officer of the Shrine Board.
Meanwhile, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board has established a Control Room equipped with Helpline facility, for Yatris undertaking the Shri Amarnathji Pilgrimage, in the office of Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board.
P K Tripathi, Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board informed that from June 19 to 30 the helpline will function from 9.30 AM to 6 PM on all weekdays and round the clock from July 1, 2015 onwards till the conclusion of the Yatra.
