Ornaments stolen from Shiv Temple

JAMMU, Apr 25: The unknown thieves broke open the door of the Amar Pinak Shiv Temple near Sukrala Temple, in Kathua district and decamped with gold, silver and brass ornaments.
According to the reports, on April 22 after night prayer the priest of the temple closed the temple and returned home. But when he reached the temple in the morning he found the lock of the main door of the temple broken. As he entered into the temple, he found that some ornaments including one gold Nath of 5-6 g, one silver bansri of 10 g and 2 idols of brass each 50 g, having total value of Rs 21500 were missing.
Besides, some cash of Rs 500 was also missing from the temple and the glass was broken into pieces. According to the priest of the temple, some blood spots were seen on the floor of the temple as well as broken mirror, which may be of the culprits.
On getting information, a police team from police station Billawar reached the spot along with forensic experts, searched the temple and collected samples for investigation.
A case FIR No 55/2015 under Sections 457/380 RPC has been registered at police station Billawar and further investigations are on.
