JAMMU, Aug 16: An orphan girl working as maid in a house at Trikuta Nagar allegedly committed suicide by jumping from river Tawi bridge, falling under the jurisdiction of Nowabad police station.
As per police sources, an orphan girl namely Geeta Devi (22), who was working as maid in a house at Trikuta Nagar for the past two years allegedly committed suicide by jumping from river Tawi bridge.
On getting information, police rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. The body had not been fished out till last reports compiled.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Nowabad police station and investigation started to ascertain the reason behind such extreme step.
