Orphans, old age protesting for pension: PCC

JAMMU, June 21: Lashing out at the LG administration and the Central Government over new pension conditions, ‘JKPCC has expressed  deep concern over the continued protests by the orphans, old age, widows, physically challenged persons seeking justice.
Reacting over the situation where the most deserving and hapless sections of the society are seeking justice on roads due to stoppage of their meagre pension of Rs 1000 on account of introduction of number of additional requirements for the continuance of pensions, JKPCC said that lakhs of eligible persons including nearly 45 % of existing  beneficiaries could not complete their formalities and failed to avail the pension benefits for the last so many months.
Likewise, the new eligible persons under these categories also failed to complete the long list of requirements due to old age, ailing health and other hassels in the govt offices.
Those who applied, are also not getting the pensions, this seeking justice by protesting on roads and before the Social Welfare Department. It is shameful that the BJP regime has stopped the pension of these most deserving sections instead of enhancing their pensions, JKPCC chief spokesperson said.
