JAMMU, Nov 23: Now the pain in joints, knee and shoulder can be treated without surgery using ultrasound technology.
This was started by Dr. Retaish Kumar, a Medical Practitioner at Vivekanand Medical Mission Hospital in a press conference here today after he started practising this new technique.
Dr. Retaish said that he has done a training course from USA on ‘Ultrasound Guided Intra Articular shorts of PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)’.
He is MBBS and PG Sports Medicine and is running a Bone and Joint Clinic as a consultant in Orthopaedic OPD for conservative Management at Swami Vivekanand Medical Mission Hospital.
He informed that PRP injection uses each individual patient’s own healing system to improve musculoskeletal problems. It is effective treatment in managing pain associated with knee, shoulder, elbow or any Joint Oesteo Arthritis, Meniscal Tear, Golfer’s Elbow, Tennis Elbow, Achilis Tendonitis.
President of Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust, Pawan Kumar Shastri was also present on the occasion.
