* Urges people to vote for Mian Altaf

MENDHAR, Apr 6: J&K National Conference president for Pir Panjal Zone Javed Ahmed Rana has passionately called for the reinforcement of democratic values and the urgent need to oust the BJP from power.
He highlighted the crucial importance of safeguarding true democracy and ensuring the preservation of fundamental rights and freedoms. He was speaking while intensifying an election campaign in favour of Party’s Lok Sabha candidate Mian Altaf for Rajouri-Anantnag constituency.
The senior NC leader and former MLA expressed deep concern about the current state of democracy in the country and the perceived erosion of democratic principles under the BJP-led Government. He emphasized the importance of upholding the values of pluralism, inclusivity, and respect for the Constitution. He said that BJP’s policies and actions have raised serious questions about the essence of democracy, such as curbing freedom of expression, suppressing dissenting voices, and weakening institutional checks and balances. Rana urged the people to unite and take a stand against these concerning trends by electing representatives who uphold democratic ideals.
The NC leader’s impassioned plea comes amidst growing concerns about the future of democracy and the need for a strong opposition to ensure accountable governance. He highlighted National Conference’s commitment to protecting democratic principles and representing the aspirations and interests of the people.
Javed Rana appealed to the people of Pir Panjal to exercise their democratic right to vote wisely and support the INDI Alliance candidate in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls, expressing confidence that a united effort can safeguard the democratic fabric of the nation. He emphasized the urgency of ousting the BJP from power to ensure the preservation of democracy and the welfare of all citizens.
Senior leaders Ch Wali Dad and Ch Nazir Hussain also spoke on the occasion.
