JAMMU, Sept 15: In response to the recent martyrdom of five soldiers in Anantnag and Rajouri districts, there has been a call for a strong military response against Pakistan from various political figures and organizations in the region.
While some of the political parties and other organisations took out rallies against Pakistan for carrying out the attacks other organisations and individuals held candle light marches across the region.
Congress Party took out a massive rally against the Pakistani terrorists in Sunderbani Town. JKPCC Chief Spokesperson and former MLC Ravinder Sharma, was leading the rally that passed through the Main Bazar and concluded at Bus Stand before paying homage to the martyrs at Shradhanjali Samaroh at the Main Chowk on Friday evening.
Lauding the valour of the security forces, Ravinder Sharma questioned the BJP Government over the alleged false claims of total normalcy in the region.
He sought an apology from the Prime Minister and the top brass of the BJP for holding a celebratory event at BJP Headquarters in Delhi on the day entire Nation was mourning the sacrifice of the soldiers.
In a statement, former MLC Vikramaditya Singh conveyed his shock and grief over the loss of the three officers in Anantnag attack and extended condolences to their families.
He emphasized the importance of India’s commitment to peace and development in the region despite such tragic events.
Senior Citizen Rejuvenation Centre Trikuta Nagar along with BJP District President Jammu South, Rekha Mahajan also took out a candle march at Trikuta Nagar area to commemorate the fallen heroes of Anantnag attack.
District President Rekha Mahajan, Former Corporator Shub Chander Verma, President Baldev Raj Gupta and other members of the society attended the candle march and condemned the attack.
In her address, Rekha Mahajan said that she was deeply saddened by the terrible loss of young officers in the dastardly terror attack. She hoped that Government will respond befittingly to Pakistan for its ulterior motives.
Apni Party activists took out a candle light march here at Satwari to remember the sacrifice of the officers in Anantnag encounter.
Pavneet Kour, the Provincial President of the Women Wing of the Party, paid rich tributes to the martyrs and hoped that the perpetrators of the attack are taken to task soon.
Manish Sahni, President of Shiv Sena J&K, demanded a robust retaliation against Pakistan, urging the elimination of 12 terrorists for every Indian soldier lost.
He expressed concern over the ongoing violence and terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting a significant increase in both the number of Indian soldiers martyred and terrorist incidents in the region in recent years.
The Jammu Province Bachao Manch (JPBM) paid homage to the fallen soldiers, saluting their sacrifices and urging the Government to respond strongly to Pakistan’s proxy war.
They emphasized that the nation should always remember the supreme sacrifices made by its armed forces.
Ashok Sharma, Chairman of the Manch, while paying tributes to the martyr officers, said that the Nation would always remember their supreme sacrifice. He demanded action against Pakistan for using its soil to harbour terrorists.
Meanwhile, the Youth Wing of Shiv Sena Hindustan J&KUT, led by J&K President Ganesh Choudhary, staged a protest against Pakistan for the terror attacks in Rajouri and Anantnag.
Ganesh Choudhary condemned the attacks, alleging they would not have been possible without support from overground workers and sympathizers.
He paid tribute to the martyred soldiers and highlighted the Government’s efforts to crack down on militant supporters in the region, making it increasingly challenging for terrorists to find safe havens.
Ganesh also pointed out that the militants were resorting to hiding in the caves and crevasses of the Pirpanjal forests, a shift from previous tactics.
He demanded action against Pakistan and its sympathizers in Jammu and Kashmir.
