JAMMU, Dec 5: The Revenue authorities led by SDM Chowki Choura Virender Gupta with the help of local police evicted a piece of State land measuring 1 kanal and 10 marla from illegal encroachment at village Bandraal Khurd.
The anti-encroachment drive was launched to meet the long pending demand of all the villagers for better mobile-connectivity and erect a mobile tower at a centrally located place in Ward Number 4 of the Panchayat. The SDM was accompanied by Tehsildar Chowki Choura Dr Raman Jandyal. The anti-encroachment team with the help of a JCB machine dismantled/removed two tin-sheds having illegally been raised over the State land and successfully retrieved it.
Taking benefit of the SDM visit, villagers reached out to him to project their certain demands. Their grievances were listened patiently and stakeholders of the concerned departments were requested to visit the area for resolving the genuine issues.
While returning to his office, a Naka, to prevent the fatal-accidents in the zigzag area of Chowki Choura, was laid by the SDM and his team. The erring bike-riders and drivers of four -wheelers were sensitized to obey the traffic norms and a fine of Rs 4400 too was realized on the spot.
