Over 16,000 devotees perform darshan at Bawe Wali Mata temple

JAMMU, Apr 11: Over 16,000 devotees performed dharshan at temple of Bawe Wali Mata at Bahu Fort till late night today on the first day of Navratra.
Hundreds of pilgrims were seen in long queues waiting for their turn of darshan till late this evening. The rush started from early in the morning and it continued late in the evening.
According to official figures 16,400 pilgrims performed darshan in the holy temple till it was closed late in the evening. The Mandir Management Committee and the administration had made elaborate arrangements for the pilgrims visiting the holy temple during the Navratra festival.
Entire temple complex was fully decorated on the occasion. The pilgrims after paying their obeisance to the deity also participated in the bhajan kirtan.
Thousands of pilgrims also visited Chachi Mata temple, Samba, Sukhrala Mata temple Billawar and other temples of the Goddess Durga in Jammu region on the occasion of first Navratra today.
Besides the rush of pilgrims also continued in the local temples on the first day of Navratra and at various places the Jagratas of the Mata also started which will continue for all nine days of the Navratra festival.
In connection with the Navratra festival Saakh was also sown by the people in the temples and at their residential houses as a mark of good omen and worship of Godess Durga.
