FEROZEPUR (PB): Over two kgs of heroin were seized in separate operations by the Border Security Force near the Indo-Pak border in Punjab.
In the first case, BSF troops seized 290 grams of heroin, innovatively concealed in a cylindrical coupling pin, near the border fence in Ferozepur sector.
The device, which is 33 cm long with a diameter of 4 cm, was found yesterday by the troops near the Wan border outpost, BSF official said.
In second incident, BSF and the Special Task Force (STF) of Punjab Police seized three packets of the contraband, hidden in wild grass (‘Sarkanda’), in Abohar sector, a BSF official said.
With this recovery, a total of 93.941 kg of heroin has been seized this year, even as smugglers try new ways to push drugs. (AGENCIES)
