Over 200 Patients benefited in Plastic Surgery camp

JAMMU, Apr 25 : Over 200 patients drawn from different parts of State were treated by Dr Monisha Kapoor in two day free Plastic Surgery Camp organised at Swami Vivekananda Mission Hospital Amphalla here today.
According to Dr. Monisha Kapoor, she has fulfilled her promise by serving the people of the state by way of holding first of its kind, camp in the state. She said during camp the patients from lowest strata of society to affluent sections of society turned up with high expectation of getting themselves cured through plastic surgery,
On the concluding day of the camp a labourer Durga Dass of Rajgarh of remote area of Ramban district turned up with deformed nose . The expenditure of re-structuring his nose would have cost Rs 2 lakhs but Dr. Monisha promised to conduct the surgery free of cost at Jammu besides providing free medicines. Dr. Monisha also assured the people of Jammu that she would render her services in Jammu frequently. She revealed that for exposure of latest technology in plastic surgery she would continue to work at New Delhi.
Dr M.P.Gupta, Administrator of Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission Charitable Hospital Amphalla, lauded the efforts of Dr. Monisha in making the people aware of latest techniques of plastic surgery beside bringing laurels to Government Medical College Jammu from where she has done her MBBS and PG in Surgery.
The 2-day camp concluded yesterday evening with hope among patients of downtrodden society that the Plastic Surgery treatment at affordable cost would be available at Jammu in nearfuture.
