Over 2000 schools spread message against single use plastic

JAMMU, Nov 1: More than 2000 schools in Punjab and J&K participated in ‘Swachh Bharat Swachh Dhan’ awareness activity for a clean/green environment and spread the message against single use plastic far and wide.
The activity was organized on the initiative of Binay Kumar Jha, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Ludhiana and Amritsar, for removal of plastic litter and make people aware about the need to stop using single use plastic.
The students went in and around their schools or in other public places nearby having plastic litter and motivated the public to stop using single use plastic.
Prominent schools which participated in this activity across J&K are RM Public Higher Secondary School Chowadi, Pragmatic School Miran Sahib, Netaji Subhash Academy Vijaypur (Samba), Parshant Public School Udhampur, Government Middle School (GMS) Girls Rajbagh (Kathua), GMS Boys Kathua, GMS Hansli (Katra) and Kendriya Vidyalaya Shiv Pura (Srinagar).
The Income Tax Department has invited all other schools, colleges and citizens to join hands in this ‘Jagriti Mission’ for a clean and healthy India by removing plastic waste from their own places, prevent littering and to avoid use of single use plastic to help clean the environment.
