SRINAGAR, Aug 8: Over 900 pilgrims performed darshan at holy cave of Swami Amarnath today.
According to an official spokesman 986 pilgrims drawn from different parts of country today performed the darshan in the holy cave of Swami Amarnath situated at an altitude of 1400 feet in deep Himalayas of South Kashmir district of Anantnag.
With this the total pilgrims paying obeisance at holy cave since the annual Amarnath yatra started on June 28 has touched 3,48,256. Till yesterday 3, 47,270 pilgrims had performed darshan in cave shrine, the spokesman said.
The spokesman said 405 pilgrims left for holy cave from Baltal Base camp early this morning via shortest track while 218 pilgrims left from Nunwan -Pahalgam base camp via traditional Chandanwari track for darshan.
He said the weather to holy cave remained partially cloudy.
Meanwhile a fresh batch of 100 pilgrims left for holy cave from Bhagwati Nagar Jammu Yatri Niwas under tight security arrangements early this morning in four vehicles.
