Over 900 persons booked for violation of COVID SOPs

JAMMU, Nov 8: In a special drive against violators of COVID-19 SOPs, Jammu Police intercepted a number of violators in two days and imposed fine as per laid down norms against them.
During two days long special drive, nearly 970 person have been fined for not wearing face masks.
During action of this drive, fine amounting to Rs 3,91,350 has been imposed on violators.
Jammu Police has put in great efforts on its part to strictly implement orders of administrative authorities regarding COVID-19 measures along with spreading awareness among the masses about following COVID protocols.
SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli has appealed to all citizens to follow proper guidelines, maintain social distancing, wear proper masks and avoid crowded places so as to stop any further rise in the COVID-19 cases.
He also said that following SOPs of COVID-19 is prerequisite to prevent further spread of infection.
It is also pressed upon that those found violating the COVID-19 guidelines in the district will be strictly dealt under law.
