Over month long J&K Assembly session begins on Jan 2

JAMMU: More than one-month long Jammu and Kashmir Assembly session will begin here on January 2 and conclude on February 4.

Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today issued the provisional calendar for the 4th Session of the 12th Legislative Assembly.

As per the Provisional Calendar, starting from January 2, 2017 with Governor’s address to Legislature, the House sittings would continue till February 4, 2017. The calendar read that discussion on motion of thanks on Governor’s address and reply thereto will be held on January 3 and 4.

Annual Financial Statement of Expenditure for 2017-2018 and Presentation of Supplementary Statement of Expenditure for 2016-2017 will be on January 9, 2017. The general discussion on budget will be held on January 10 and 11 ending with reply thereto.

As per the calendar the demand for grants for various departments would be taken up from January 12 to January 27 and the Appropriation Bills will be taken up on January 28. There shall be Government Business on January 30.

Private Members Resolutions will be taken up on January 31 and February 2 and Private Members Bills on February 1 and February 3. There will be Government Business on February 4 if any, the calendar issued said. (AGENCIES)
