Over Rs 4 lakh sanctioned for SPOs

SRINAGAR, Oct 5: In order to take care of health care needs of the Special Police Officers (SPOs) and their families and to provide monetary assistance for the same, Police Headquarters has sanctioned financial assistance-cum-medical relief in favour of 20 SPOs.
The special assistance of Rs 4,44,924 has been sanctioned by the Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh out of Police Pariwar, SPOs Contributory Fund. It has been sanctioned to defray the expenses in connection with self-treatment and treatment of dependents of these SPOs.
These SPOs are posted in different districts which include Srinagar, Anantnag, Baramulla, Handwara, Kulgam, Budgam, Sopore, Ganderbal, Doda and Kathua. The amount has been released online to the concerned SSPs for reimbursement and disbursement to the concerned beneficiaries.
Under various welfare measures for the SPOs, Police Headquarters has sanctioned approximately Rs 29 lakh in the calendar year till date to take care of health care need of the SPOs.
PHQ has been sanctioning financial assistance and medical relief for serving/retired personnel including SPOs to meet the expenses on their treatment and other exigencies. The assistance is provided out of different heads of Contributory Welfare Fund.
