SAMBA, Mar 11: Continuing its drive against narcotics smuggler, Samba Police today arrested two narcotic smugglers at Mansar road and seized 03 kgs and 700 gms of charas from their possession which were they carrying in a vehicle.
The accused have been identified as Mohd Iqbal Dar, son of Asadullah Dar of Ladhoo (Pampore) district Pulwama driver of the vehicle and Ali Mohd Gau Gujri son of Ama Gau Gujri of Ahu Paian (Shangus) district Anantnag.
Reports said that Police while conducting naka checking at Mansar road intercepted a Tavera car bearing registration No. JK01Q-8070 and during search of the vehicle Police recovered 03 kgs and 700 gms of charas from the possession of two persons. The accused were arrested and Case FIR No. 45/2013 u/s 18/20 NDPS Act has been registered at P/S Samba .
Public in general has hailed the role of police as business of narcotics and psychotropic substances has assumed significance in light of its impact on the youth.
