Overcoming power crisis

Sir,
As witnessed, the problem of power crisis in our region reached its worst stage during the last 3/4 months  (onset of hot season). Frequent fluctuation, low voltage, overloading of transformers, shut down, were observed to the hilt. Electric appliances  at hours had become useless/decorative piece items. Eventually, huge public outcry was demonstrated althrough for failure of PDD to provide minimum  essential requirement to mitigate  misery. Tail- end located houses were great sufferers.
Numerous views comments editorials published in this paper, showing causes and solution of problem were eye opener both to public and   authority concerned. Alas ! who bothers to care for the valuable information provided thereof. Resultantly, do not have much expectation for change in the on-going state of affairs.
Infact, the problem is no more faced by high echelons of society (influential, VIPS, moneyed class) who will somehow manage to get power at “Whatever cost be” either by legal or other ways. Then, the problem is not for those who are smarter or use muscle power in stealing power, at each others cost, by various means viz putting hooks, using voltage regulators,  meter tempering etc to meet the ends. Yes-the hapless people invokes the powers of ‘God’ who listens to their heart-felt prayers and brings showers and relief to everyone.
Needless to add, the role of ill-gotten money by way of black money, fake currency circulation, other unethical ways, is no less significant.
While planners   are expected to prepare new projects for generation of power well in time a few  suggestion may help ease the present crisis, to begin with, if implemented sincerely.
i) “Charity begins at Home” Let the authorities,  firstly inspect the power station, feeders, marts (where linemen  are stationed) in each and every area, to assess the performance of transformers, cables, supporting poles, men and  materials deployed or used, in order to ensure efficiency of channels of supply of power to House hold-consumers.
ii) Periodical inspection to be conducted by senior authorities  for each and every colony, to check housing, over-packed and congested cables, hanging wires, use of transformer regulators, unauthorised connection, meter tempering, sketchy or weak electric poles, over loaded transformers P/C and remedial measures to be taken.
iii) Last but not the least, definite Action Plan and Roap Map, need to be drawn to streamline the working of system/distribution of quality power supply to every consumer  and fix accountability from top to bottom, for ensuring discipline to get the point  set right, forthwith, to begin with.
Let us shun away with attitude of “Chalta Hai” at all levels and   achieve our  objectives in time and efficiently. Otherwise, the privatization of distribution of uninterrupted and quality power, is alternative, as happens in metropolitian cities.
Yours etc…
