AMRITSAR, Oct 6: The Paarvati Devi Hospital, Amritsar has launched North India’s only fully equipped holistic Gastro Sciences Department.
Executive Director of the Hospital, Sanjay Maheshwari said since the incidence of Gastro-intestinal and liver diseases have increased at an alarming rate with the Hepatitis-B and Hepatitis-C cases also increasing at the same pace besides cancer cases, especially Gastro-intestinal and liver cancer, creating a dire need to treat this disease with all the facilities under one roof, the Paarvati Devi Hospital, keeping in mind, resolved to go for launch of fully equipped Gastro Sciences Department.
He said the intention is to create a world-class facility and bring together a team of dedicated specialists to cater to the medical and surgical needs of these patients. To realize this dream, `Sarvhit Gastrocity Centre’ is being launched after installing the latest state-of-the-art endoscopic and allied gadgets, all under one roof. With this, gastro-intestinal patients would now find it convenient to get all the facilities and treatment in their own region with the best equipment for correct diagnosis, collective action, treatment, post care.
Sanjay Maheshwari further said that this new centre has a team of experienced doctors and the latest equipment and technology for the treatment of Gastro patients. He said high definition scopes with I-Scans for advanced cancer screening, APC (Argon Plasma Coagulator) for difficult bleeds, Capsule Endoscopy for complete screening of gastrointestinal tract, PH monitoring for Oesophageal physiology study (first in the region) and manometry (first in the region) for assessing motor function of Oesophageal spincter are the facilities available in the Centre. A team of dedicated doctors including Dr Jagtesh Singh Sidhu, MD, Fellowship in Gastroenterology, Dr Amitabh Mohan Jerath from Tata Memorial Mumbai, Dr Ravinder Singh Malhotra and Dr Vikas Gupta from TATA Memorial Mumbai will be available for the services. He said the Hospital is empanelled with all major insurance companies, ECHS & other Government and Semi-government organizations.
