PAC seeks status of work on Leh-Kargil transmission line

SRINAGAR, June 5: Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Legislative Assembly today sought the status of work on Leh-Kargil transmission line besides under construction grid stations and receiving stations across the State from Power Development Department (PDD). It also sought information about the measures taken for extension of HT, LT connectivity to the new habitations, besides installation and augmentation of transformers.
The Committee, which met under the chairmanship of MLA, Rafi Ahmed Mir decided that it will examine the audit paras and working of the Power Development and Rural Development Departments in its next meeting to be held on June 11 and June 18.
Legislators, Vijay Bakaya, Bashir Ahmed Magray, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain, Sukhandan, Indu Pawar and Syed Basharat Ahmad Bhukhari gave their valuable suggestions to improve the functioning of the Committee.
The Committee also sought detailed information about progress made under the revised APDRP scheme in the State. The panel sought information about the power curtailment schedule affected last year. It also asked the PDD authorities to furnish details about block wise progress registered in the implementation of RGGVY, besides working of the department and future plans.
While discussing Rural Development Department, the Committee sought information about the funds released under BADP and MGNREGA (block wise) and expenditure for last three years. It also asked the RDD authorities to furnish details of staff engaged block wise under MGNREGA.
The Committee also inquired about fresh proposals and number of model villages taken up during the last 3 years. Number of Complaints received in respect of expenditure under MGNREGA for last year and disposal there off. It also sought information about implementation details of other schemes.
