Bakaya endorses demand

JAMMU, Dec 19: Prime Minister package employees protest dharna in support of the relocation demand entered 222nd day here, today.
The protesting employees are demanding attachment with Relief and Rehabilitation Organization Jammu in view of the targeted killings and continuous threats received by them from The Resistance Front (TRF). They raised serious concern about the persistent threat letters served to them by the terror outfits which are being very volatile in nature.
Hundreds of protesters were raising slogans against the Government for its failure in mitigating the sufferings of package employees who were constantly protesting for their safety and security for last over 220 days. They were demanding that Government should immediately attach them in Jammu and later initiate a dialogue process with employees to find a permanent solution to the issue.
Talking to media persons at protest site, All Migrant Displaced Employees Association Kashmir leaders said that it was impossible for minority employees to resume their duties in wake of persistent threat letters that have caused fear among employees. The employees were completely baffled and confused after the constant threatening given to them.
Stressing the need for early release of salaries, they said that employees were facing all sorts of hardships to meet the basic needs. Criticizing the Government for resorting to pressure tactics, they alleged that administration was pretending to be unaware of the ground situation and such approach only dishearten the employees.
Meanwhile talking to Excelsior general secretary, Apni Party and former MLC, Vijay Bakaya said that Government has failed to check killings in Kashmir. He said the PM package employees are in constant fear due to targeted killings which are being done under conspiracy.
He said feeling harassed it was totally impossible for these employees to perform their duties in Kashmir and strongly advocated for settling of their demand and ensuring their security.
Bakaya showed concern over threats issued by TRF and said under such conditions the employees can’t serve in Kashmir. He said Apni Party strongly favours that their salaries be released immediately.
He said the flats have not been constructed till date which is also a cause of concern.
