Package employees’ protest enters 133rd day

JAMMU, Sept 22: The indefinite strike of the PM package and non-PM package employees entered 133rd day today and they raised slogans in favour of their demand of relocation outside the Kashmir Valley.
The irked Kashmiri Pandit package employees held protest demonstrations at the various transit camps in Kashmir Valley and reiterated their prime demand of relocation to Jammu. The leaders of the package employees have emphasized that the ground situation for the working of PM package employees is neither conducive nor feasible in Kashmir. The agitating employees were demanding the “Right to Life” as guaranteed by Article-21 of the Constitution and thus were demanding their survival and safety.
Meanwhile, one of the protesting package employee’ stressed that the LG administration should utilize the services of the package employees in the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner’s Migrant Office Jammu and its relief counters. The agitating package employees further stated that they will continue their sit in protest till the Centre Government and LG administration agrees to concede their relocation demand.
