JAMMU, Jan 6: The PM package employees who are on protest over last 240 days today protested outside BJP Headquarters here.  The employees displayed their individual letters addressed to Prime Minister, Home Minister demanding attachment to Jammu in the wake of targeted killings in Kashmir Valley.
Reiterating their demand of  relocation/attachment/deployment to Jammu in wake of the targeted killings and on receipt of constant threat letters from LET affiliate terrorist organisation TRF, the employees citing their personal threat perceptions and fear-psychosis urged BJP UT president, Ravinder Raina to impress upon the administration that it should not sent the package employees back forcefully to the Valley.
BJP president, Ravinder Raina met the protesting Kashmiri Pandit employees outside his office and listened to their grievances while assuring them that their demand of attachment to Jammu is legitimate and will be taken up with the Home Minister in New Delhi.
More than 2500 letters duly signed by the employees working across different departments in the Valley were handed over to BJP president in this regard.
The letters are demanding attachment to Jammu in view of the prevalent security scenario in the Valley. The same were also submitted via electronic mode on the Prime Minister’s grievance portal yesterday.
The employees asserted that the LG Administration has failed to ensure the safety and security of the Kashmiri Pandit employees and is instead using the bureaucratic apparatus to push them to the brink by stopping their salaries and issuing show cause notices. They reiterated that owing to lack of basic security apparatus and incomplete rehabilitation structure, they can’t go back to their respective places of posting in the Valley. Meanwhile, withholding salary of the employees for the past five months has elevated hardships of their families in all respects whereas many employees who are suffering from life consuming diseases are finding it difficult to meet their basic and medical expenses. The employees appealed to Ravinder Raina to treat the matter on humanitarian grounds and show empathy with the employees who have been on roads for the past 242 days demanding that their right to life be protected and they be treated with Dignity.
Meanwhile, senior KP leaders P L Koul Budgami and Raj Nath Raina besides president Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) Kundan Kashmir have also made an appeal to BJP to impress upon the Central Government to deal the issue on humanitarian grounds as these employees are also citizens of India and the Government in view of targeted killings should not force them to join duties in Kashmir and release their salaries.
