Sir,
Forced displacement of millions of people during the bloody days of 1947 was owning to political failures of the then Govts. The scars of wounds they suffered are indelible and the losses they went are inestimable. Why their compensation claims are still unpaid and why a package for their final rehabilitation haven’t been extended by the Govt so far, exhibits something unbecoming of any democratic Govt. Lack of human sympathy and disowning the moral responsibility by the Govts so far, both at the Centre and the State, kept millions of people in highly unsettled life conditions.
The proposals are sent and the objections are slapped by the Centre and vice versa, leading to aggravation of their life conditions. If sincerely and sympathetically visualised, no doubt, some people appear to have economically developed by dint of their hard work, but majority is still in a miserable and sub-standard life conditions. Since they are in their fourth generation after their displacement, the amount required needs to be in commensuration with their proper resettlement. Earlier, the political conflicts might have been the principal cause for delay, but now when both the State and the Centre are almost under the compromised flags, it is strongly hoped that the miseries of these distressed millions will be redressed without further delay.
Yours etc…
