Package for Pak refugees

Sir,
The bitter memories of 1947 partition wherein thousands and thousands of people were killed, burnt alive and rendered homeless occupy a  very gloomy picture in the history of wars. Millions including women, children, aged and infirm who could reach India, were only in worn clothes and had bullet scars on their backs. The heart melts and one can’t remain unwept by the stories of hunger, starvation and deaths of these unfortunate refugees. But alas, the then newly formed Govts, both at the Centre and the State could do nothing substantial for their proper resettlement by paying justified compensation for lost/left properties.  Later on too, many Govts came, but the problems/demands of these distressed refugees remained uncared. Indeed, the community by sheer hard work and struggle developed considerably, but those who couldn’t stand on their feet are still in sub-standard life conditions. It is also not that the Govt is not in a position to pay the compensation and mitigate their sufferings, but unfulfilment of state obligations (Dharma) towards the citizens is the basic cause which made even their third generation to roll in the dust. It is strongly felt that atleast now something concrete will be done to remove the black spot for neglecting such a multitude of the community from their legitimate rights.
Yours etc….
