Rupees 7000 crore package stands drafted as compensation claims for the families that got displaced under extremely forced circumstances during the periods 1947, 65 and 71 is indeed a thankful task by the existing Govt of the State but keeping it shelved in cold store is not less regretable. The previous Govt’s unsympathetic attitude in mitigating sufferings, these unfortunates had to undergo, is indeed lamentable.
Undeniably, it was an utter failure of the then Govts both at the Centre and the State to protect life and property of these people. The onus to rehabilitate them also falls on their shoulders. Keeping these people in unsettled life conditions is a very sad affair. It is strongly hoped that a little push to the proposal by the CM will surely not remain unfructified in mitigating indescribable hardships, these people still are confronted with.
