Padma Shree Mohan Singh, Jayesh grace PIFF as jury members

JAMMU, Nov 8: Son of the soils, Padma Shri Mohan Singh and Jayesh Gupta (editor, director and producer) has made the Jammu and Kashmir proud by gracing the 1st phase of Punjab International Film Festival (PIIF) as jury members.
They were among the 5 jury members in the prestigious Film Festival that was held at Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Jalandhar on Tuesday. The Festival is being organized by Sudh Maadev Films Private Limited in association with V2V Cinema, Ludhiana.
The Festival will be completed in 3 phases and the first phase took place on Tuesday wherein 47 shortlisted films across the globe were screened and judged by the jury members. The other two phases of the Festival will be held soon at different locations.
Pertinent to mention here that Mohan Singh from Samba district is a renowned name in field of literary, theatre, TV and Cinema. He was awarded Padam Shree Award for his contribution in literature in the year 2023 as he has written 32 books of different genre. Besides, He has written and directed 20 serials and 25 documentaries for Doordarshan Jammu, Doordarshan Srinagar and for Koshir Channel. He has also penned lyrics for two Dogri feature films.
Jayesh Gupta-a renowned writer, director and film producer from Trikuta Nagar (Jammu) has also won a lot of awards in his short span of film career. Recently, he had won the best director award for his film “Bacche Mann Ke Sacche” at the International Film Festival of J&K. He has also won several awards including best social film award for his film “Kyun” at Karnataka International Film Festival and best jury award in Jammu Film Festival.
