PAGD achieve nothing from misleading campaign: BJP

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Aug 27: Discussing the present political scenario in Jammu and Kashmir, BJP Vice-President Varinderjeet Singh and Spokespersons Rajni Sethi and Balbir Ram Rattan, said that except a handful of people, no one in Kashmir or Jammu has any sympathy with the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) for the reason that the political constituents of this opportunist and unholy alliance have lost their credibility in public for their own acts in the past.
Varinderjeet Singh said that days are gone when people of the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir were not politically much aware and could easily be trapped for seeking votes on false and misleading assurances and promises. He said that the present generation has no interest in what NC, PDP leaders utter, particularly on the issue of the restoration of Article 370 and 35-A. He expressed hope that leaders like Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti would concentrate on matters of development and progress and not stick to non- issues.
Party Spokesperson Rajni Sethi said that Kashmir-centric political parties have come together on the platform of PAGD but their alliance will prove to be a total flop because the emotional tactics in seeking public support will never work as the people want something concrete instead of slogans. She said that no force can bring back Article 370 and 35-A, a reality which should be accepted by PAGD.
Balbir Ram Rattan, Spokesperson, said that seventy years is a long period and no section, community or region, achieved anything while Article 370 and 35-A were there in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that PAGD is an alliance of compulsion and the same is clear from the development which has brought two regional political parties of Valley together, shedding their core ideology and principles. He said that by assuring restoration of Article 370 and 35-A, the PAGD is, in fact, not aware of the ground realities and pushing arrows in dark.
