PAGD’s white paper aimed at hiding its own failures: Raman Suri

JAMMU, Feb 27: The so-called self-styled white paper rolled out by People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), accusing BJP of deceit, is nothing but a bundle of ‘white lies’ aimed at camouflaging their own failures and misdeeds besides poor governance that these political outfits encouraged and banked upon for past seventy years at the behest of their master Congress at the helm of affairs.
This was stated by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri, who added that Article 370 was one of the biggest obstacle in J&K’s development and its abrogation not only empowered the three-tier system of governance here but also percolated powers down to the grassroot levels.
While taking PAGD head-on, Raman Suri said that prior to the abrogation of Article 370 on 5th August 2019, Ladakh and Jammu were discriminated but after the formation of two Union Territories, Ladakh started getting all that was due since years including sports arenas, universities, health care systems, own governance system and most importantly, decision-making powers that are now vested with Panchayats and local self-governing institutions.
Referring to the appeal made by PAGD leaders to the people of India, Raman Suri said that the entire Indian population is happy to see Jammu and Kashmir having equal rights, laws, policies implemented and especially the empowerment of people through Panchayats and Local Bodies that never existed in J&K. Regarding UAPA, PSA and arrests, he added, their press conference and free movements across the length and breadth of J&K negates their claim and termed the utterances as propaganda merely to stay relevant.
