KATHUA, Dec 31: The irate residents of Pahadpur, 32 kms from here on Zero Line today protested in front of Divisional Engineer M&RE Office here today against the failure of PDD authorities to install a new transformer in the area after old one developed a snag three months back.
The residents shouting slogans against the PDD authorities said that the transformer had developed a snag three months back and since then the area is totally facing black out. They said they could not irrigate their fields as no water is available without light.
The protest was led by Balbir Singh a resident of Pahadpur. He said despite brining the matter in the notice of the concerned officers a number of times they failed to take action and install the new transformer.
However later with the intervention of police authorities who took up the issue with senior engineers of PDD, the transformer was dispatched to the village.
