JAMMU, Dec 28: The J&K Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL) has successfully organised the finale of the Poetry Festival, dedicated to Pahari language.
The Poetry Festival successfully provided a platform to more than 250 poets of Urdu, Hindi, Kashmiri, Dogri, Punjabi, Gojri and Pahari with a day dedicated to every single language.
Sheikh Azad Ahmad Azad (Awardee) was chief guest on the occasion and the event was presided over by Mohammad Rasheed Qammar, Retired Cultural Officer (JKAACL).
The programme was traditionally inaugurated with the lamp-lighting ceremony.
Bharat Singh, Secretary JKAACL delivered welcome address and said: “These regional languages are our cultural heritage and we all should be proud of our indigenous languages.”
Zahida Khanam, Mohammad Bashir Lohar, Javaid Naheem, Mohd. Sharif Qamar, Sadeeq Ahmad Sadeeqi, Mohammad Aslam, Malik Zakir Khaki, Rafeeq Khan Rafeeq, Malik Shafeeq Aarish, Syed Anwar Shaheen, Khursheed Kirmani, Parvaiz Manous (Awardee) and Samina Saher graced the event and spellbound the audience with their poetical renditions.
Altaf Ahmad Janjuya conducted proceedings on the final day of Poetry Festival.
Dr. Shahnawaz, Incharge cum Editor (Gojri) cum Cultural Officer JKAACL delivered vote of thanks.
