RAJOURI, May 18: The prominent Pahari and BJP leaders from Rajouri and Thannamandi area demanded public support for Apni Party candidate, Zafar Iqbal Manhas for Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat.
During public meetings held at Thannamandi and Darhal today, the speakers sought massive public support in favour of the prominent Pahari leader, noted literary personality and Apni Party candidate Zafar Iqbal Manhas.
Besides Zafar Manhas senior leaders like Abdul Qayoom Mir- DDC Thanna Mandi, Iqbal Malik DDC Darhal alongwith senior leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party as well as Pahari Forum participated and urged the public to vote and support the Apni Party candidate Manhas in coming Lok Sabha elections so that a new era of development can be started in Peer Panchal and South Kashmir as Manhas is one of the most competent and potential candidate who can work for the public of this area.
Qayoom Mir while speaking on the occasion lambasted the previous regimes who took the people of Peer Panchal for granted during last seven decades and always exploited them for their vote bank politics. Mir also highlighted that it was only the BJP led government at the Centre under the able guidance of Narender Modi who worked for the marginalized classes, Pahari ethnic Tribe, provided political reservation to Gujjar and Bakerwals, free ration to 80 crore public under BPL and AAY, Rs 5 lakh Health cover under Ayushman Bharat Scheme, housing for all and hundreds of other welfare schemes were launched for all sections of society.
Zafar Manhas assured the public that he will devote himself heartedly for the common masses of this area. The major projects including Rail link to Peer Panchal belt, Tourism infrastructure, Army recruitment, Hill Council for Peer Panchal and other burning issues of this area will be addressed in a phased manner. He appealed the general public of Peer Panchal not to fall in the trap of those politicians who have always exploited the public of this region for their electoral gains
Several senior leaders including Master Ghani Shawl, Rasheed Qamar and Karamatullah Dard also addressed the gathering.
The Party workers of BJP assured the senior leadership that they will work with full zeal and enthusiasm to ensure victory for Zafar Manhas as he is most suitable and richly experienced leader who has a clear vision of development for the public.
