JAMMU, Jan 31: Paharis have justifiably won their due share after decades of injustice, and all the credit goes to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi led Central as well Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory (UT) Governments, claimed BJP senior leader and former MLC, Vibodh Gupta(Adv.).
Talking to reporters here today along with UT BJP press secretary, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra and senior Pahari leader & BJP district president, Poonch, Mohammed, Rafiq Chishti, at BJP headquarter at Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, Vibodh Gupta, complimented Central and UT Governments of J&K for granting 4% reservation to Paharis in Jammu & Kashmir. He said that this historic decision has once again vindicated the fact that after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35 (A), every section of the State will get its due. Highlighting plight of poor and marginalized Paharis of the UT, he said that this community has suffered immensely, not only in terms of socio-economic and educational benefits but also because of its least representation in the administration of the State. He said that previous Governments have always done injustice to the Paharis and never paid any attention towards the plights of this community. Now with this decision, a long pending demand of Paharis has been fulfilled.
