Paharis, OBCs neglected under NC, Cong regimes: Priya Sethi

NOWSHERA, May 18: Pahari Tribal as well as people belonging to OBC suffered for last 70 years because of selective discrimination by National Conference (NC) , Congress and Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).
This was stated by Priya Sethi , National Executive Member (NEM), BJP and former Minister while intensifying election campaign in support of likeminded parties working in the interest of the nation.
BJP Mandal president, Ravinder Shamra, DDC Sangita Sharma, DDC Neena Sharma, BDC Bal Krishnan, Sukhdev Choudhry district general secretary also accompanied the former Minister.
The senior BJP leader said that no development was witnessed far flung and remote areas of Rajouri district during the successive Governments headed by NC, Congress and PDP in the erstwhlile State. She said that these parties only misused the power of democracy to fill up their own pockets and cheated people on the name of region and religion. She asserted that in 2009, NC, Congress and PDP conspired against the people of Jammu region and banned the inter-district recruitment.
Priya Sethi said that the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi after taking over the reins of Central Government has done justice to all the sections of people in Jammu and Kashmir. She said that several communities faced injustice in the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir, but their voices remained unheard over the decades. But the Modi Government has empowered the communities by fulfilling their aspirations.
She stated that the Union Government has brought the weaker sections into mainstream in J&K. Relying on Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas, Modi Government has taken many steps for the welfare and development of Paharis and OBCs by extending 27 percent reservation in admissions in the Central Education Institutes; e.g. Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas as well as Medical and Technical Education Institution and NEET, she said.
She mentioned that under the Modi regime 10% reservation granted to Pahari ethnic Tribe and 8 per cent reservation were give to OBCs.
