Painter killed after fall from building, SPO injured in road mishap

JAMMU, July 14: A painter was killed today after falling from a three-storey building in Bantalab area of city outskirts while a Special Police Officer of J&K Police was injured in a road mishap at Vikram Chowk, here.
According to a police spokesperson, a painter identified as Avinash of Jeevan Nagar (Jammu) this morning fell from a three-storey building in Bantalab area while painting a wall. In the mishap, he received serious injurious and was immediately taken to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries in the evening.
The body of the deceased has been shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for conducting post mortem tomorrow. A case FIR No 221/2015 under section 337 RPC has been registered in this connection at concerned police station.
Meanwhile, an SPO of J&K police identified as Suresh Kumar (30) son of Kaka Ram, a resident of Gajansoo, who was posted at District Police Lines (DPL) Jammu, was injured when the bike he was travelling on, was hit by another unknown bike at Vikram Chowk.
The injured SPO (Belt No 288/SPO) was shifted to GMCH Jammu, where his condition is stated to be stable.
The concerned police has taken cognizance of the matter.
