Painter OP Sharma honoured with Amrita Sher-Gil award

JAMMU, Nov 19: Renowned artist OP Sharma was honoured with the prestigious Amrita Sher-Gil Award for his outstanding contributions to art and culture at the 8th National Award ceremony held at Virsa Vihar, Amritsar.
As per a statement, the event, organized by the Great Sports Culture Club, saw Major Dhyan Chand Awardee Kuldeep Singh as the chief guest.
Other distinguished guests included Dr Malti Narang, General Secretary of the Athletic Association of Punjab, and renowned figures like film director Khushboo Sharma and athletic coach Baldip Singh Sidhu.
OP Sharma, Director of the Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), was recognized for his significant role in promoting art and culture in the region.
A respected painter, Sharma has participated in numerous national and international art exhibitions and camps.
He has been honoured by several prestigious organizations, including the Lalit Kala Akademi and the Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar.
