Painting Competition held

KARGIL, May 17: Musharraf Ali of Munshi Habibullah Mission School secured first position in the on spot Painting Competition organised by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, at Academy Hall, Baroo.
In the competition, 27 children from 9 schools of Kargil participated in junior age group.
The second position was secured by Ahmed Hussain of Mutaharry School, Kargil. Asgar Ali and Imtiyaz Ali of JK Northern Public School and Rubab Fatima of Mutaharry School, Kargil claimed the consolation prizes.
Principal District and Session Judge Muhammad Ibrahim Wani was also present on the occasion, who distributed certificates of merit and cheques among the prize winning students.
While speaking, he said that such programmes are the ideal platform for the children to dwell into their creative faculties, so that they are able to come up with some great ideas.
Earlier welcoming the contesting students and teachers, Muhammad Ali Tak, Cultural Officer said that Cultural Academy is cognizant of giving opportunities to the younger generation to put forth their creative ideas, and added that this programme is aimed at giving a platform for them to try and showcase their painting and drawing skills.
Aga Syed Hadi Shah conducted the proceedings while as Muhammad Ali Tak, Cultural Officer delivered the Vote of Thanks.
