Painting exhibition for students commences

JAMMU, Oct 2: Seven days long Students’ Painting Exhibition on Wildlife commenced today at NIC Hall, Manda Deer Park Jammu. It was inaugurated by Sarvesh Rai, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (WL), Chief Wildlife Warden J&K. Nearby 450 paintings made by the students of J&k were displayed in the Exhibition . This event has been organised by by the J&K Wildlife Protection Department Jammu in collaboration with The Himalayan Avian.
During the speech, the chief Guest said that the aim of this programme was to raise awareness about conservation of nature and, in particular, wildlife among the masses. He mentioned that conservation of wildlife is very important for maintenance of ecosystem balance. During the inaugural function students, whose paintings have been displayed in Exhibition, were presented.
Beside this Dr. Kumar MK, Regional Wildlife Warden, Jammu, Anil Atri, Warden Jammu, Dr. Arun Gupta Warden HQ, and Guldev Raj were present.
This year more than 700 students from 40 schools of J&K took part in painting competition held recently and now their work has been show cased in beautiful way. This year painting competitions in different areas were organised in 4 categories on two themes, one was Jungle Life and second one was Bio-Diversity of Lake- Mansar/Suruinsar/Sanasar/ Dal. Majourity of Students showed keen interest in making of Dal Lake Bio-diversity in their painting. Painting Exhibition will remain open for public till 8th October.
