Painting, Slogan Writing competitions organized at JU

JAMMU, Aug 19: Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu (JU) today organized a Painting as well as Slogan Writing competitions in which around 25 students from different colleges and departments of the JU participated.
The topic for both the events was ‘Independence’, on which the participants unleashed their creativity and put that beautifully on the papers.
In slogan writing competition, Ivani Katal from The Business School was adjudged first, Rudra Sharma from the Department of Law stood second and Harpreet Kour from the Department of Statistics stood third. The adjudicators for the event were Prof Indu Kilam and Vijaya Thakur.
In painting competition, Malti Sharma from Institute of Music & Fine Arts stood first whereas Hemant Magotra from the Department of Commerce and Vrinda Sharma from the Department of Chemistry stood 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Vijay Anand and Chander Shakhar were the judges of the event.
The winners were presented souviners at the occasion and were also given tips by the judges for better performance in future. Dr Sanjay Sharma was the Teacher Incharge of the event. The event was coordinated by Sumeet Sharma and Ifra Kak under the supervision of Prof Arvind Jasrotia, Chairman, Campus Cultural Committee and Dr Parmil Kumar, Assistant Dean, Students Welfare. Dr Anupama Vohra, Associate Dean, Students Welfare, presented the formal vote of thanks.
