Pak again violates ceasefire in Poonch

 

JAMMU: Pakistan troops again violated ceasefire and targetted forward Indian posts in Poonch district.

“Pakistan troops fired unprovoked small arms and automatics this evening at round 1645 hrs in Mendhar area of Bhimber Gali Sector,” S N Acahrya Jammu Based PRO, Ministry of Defence here said.

He said Indian troops effectively retaliated with similar caliber of weapons adding that no injury or damage has been reported in exchange of fire.

“The firing was still on,” said the PRO.

Earlier Pakistan had violated the truce in Bhimber Gali area along the Line of Control in Rajouri district on September 21 and 22 in Bhimber Gali area and on September 17, Pakistan fired heavily in Mendhar Sector of Poonch in which a BSF jawan and a civilian sustained injuries.

“With today’s ceasefire violation it was the 20th in the month of September this year and 121st so far in 2013,” he added. (AGENCIES)
