Pak should desist from shelling on civilians: Mankotia

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Oct. 14: NPP team led by Balwant Singh Mankotia MLA extensively toured the forward areas of Arnia sector and other adjoining border villages &  took  serious cognizance of the damages and havoc wrecked by the continuous mortar shelling by the Pakistan Army. He warned Pakistan to desist from indiscriminate firing across the IB and LoC or else should be ready to face the dire consequences.
Mankotia said that cease fire violations by Pakistan shall only derail the peace process and these are not in consonance with the bilateral agreements (between India and Pakistan) on Jammu and Kashmir and emphasized that peace on  the borders is a pre-requisite for dialogue between the two nations.
Mankoita lambasted the State Government for not providing relief to the border migrants who were forced to flee from their residential places.  He demanded five marlas of land for every uprooted family and adequate ex-gratia for those who were injured and killed during the incessant shelling from across the border.
Others who accompanied Mankotia,  include Rajesh Pargotra provincial president, Khajur Singh provincial vice-president, Dhani Ram Atri, Vishav Dev Singh and Inderpal Singh.
