Pak firing in Balakote, Mendhar

JAMMU, Sept 27: Pakistan Army today resorted to heavy firing on the forward Indian positions at Balakote, Mendhar and Poonch sectors but there were no casualties or damage on the Indian side.
Reports said Pakistan Army started firing on Indian positions in most of the Balakote sector and parts of Mendhar sector at 4.45 pm today.
The Indian troops retaliated from their forward positions, leading to exchanges that lasted a couple of hours.
Pakistan Army also opened firing in Shahpur area of Poonch at 8.30 pm.
The firing continued for one and a half hours. Indian troops fired back. Both sides used small arms and automatic guns.
There were no reports of any casualties or damage on the Indian side in the firing, reports said, adding the firing completely ceased after 8 pm.
The Pakistan Army had reportedly been trying to push a group of infiltrators inside the Indian territory from Balakote sector. However, Indian troops have foiled the intrusions bids.
