Pak opens firing in Khour, Jourian

JAMMU, Oct 30: Pakistan Army tonight opened firing on the Line of Control (LoC) at forward village of Hamirpur and Gigriyal in Khour area of Jourian sector in Akhnoor tehsil.
A day after BSF and Rangers agreed to maintain ceasefire on the International Border in a flag meeting, Pakistan Army started firing at the LoC in forward areas of Hamirpur and Gigriyal in Khour area of Jourian sector at 7.45 pm tonight.
Pakistani troops targeted forward posts with small and automatic firearms. Indian Army retaliated effectively, leading the exchanges, which continued till 10.20 pm.
There were no casualties or damages on the Indian side in Pakistan firing.
This was the third front opened by Pakistani troops since August this year. Earlier, Pakistan Army had been targeting the LoC in twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch while later tensions escalated on the International Border in Jammu sector.
Tonight, Pakistan Army targeted newer areas in Jourian and Khour along the LoC.
