JAMMU, Aug 21: As panic gripped the border belt of Hiranagar over unprovoked repeated Pak firing, the people of Manyari village and some adjoin areas today warned mass migration in case the Government failed to find an everlasting solution to their problem.
Worried over Pakistan firing, the residents of Hiranagar border belt said that they are left with no alternative except mass migration as they can’t come out of their houses during the day as well as night hours due to Pak firing and border denizens especially the children are totally scared. “We are worried about ours as well as the safety of our live stock”, said an old villager of Manyari.

As per reports, Pakistan resorted to heavy firing in border village Chandrey Chack and Chandwan last night targeting religious places like temple in the village. The Pakistani Rangers targeted the border village with mortars and heavy fire on residential houses and village temple. The people ran away to safer places in water logged bunkers to get shelter. The border residents Nanak Chand and Beli Ram told that the firing started from 10 pm last night till this morning and people passed the sleepless night. Numbers of houses were partially damaged as bullet pierced the walls of houses damaging the houses completely.
Some bullets also entered in residential house and the inmates sleeping in the rooms had narrow escape.
They said Pakistani firing also badly hit a village temple and people could not go for worship due to terror of firing. The border residents are worried of their safety and security and asked the Government to teach a lesson to Pakistan.
The children of these villages said that they passed sleepless night under terror of firing. They could not even study due to firing as every one was scared and panicky due to firing. The border residents said that nearly half a dozen of border villages as Pansar, Manyari, Rathua , Kadyala, Chack Changa, Chandrey Chack and Karole have mostly suffered due to shelling.
They warned to migrate to safer places if firing from across the border did not stop and befitting reply was not given to Pakistan.
They even said that they are unable to take shelter in the bunkers because they are filled with rain and seepage water.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan army today resorted to heavy firing and mortar shelling in forward areas along the LoC in Poonch district violating the ceasefire, officials said.
“At about 1830 hours today, Pak army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and resorting to intense shelling with mortars along the LoC in Mankote sector,” Defence spokesperson said.
The Indian Army retaliated befittingly to the ceasefire violation by Pakistan, he added.
