Pak troops violate truce, targets Indian BoPs on IB

JAMMU : In yet another ceasefire violation after firing heavily along the Line of Control in Poonch, Pakistan troops fired small arms at the forward Border Outposts along the International Border in Pargwal Sector of Jammu. “Pakistan Rangers late last night at around 2230 hrs fired small arms at forward BoPs in Chak Phagwari area of Pargwal Sector in Akhnoor area of Jammu,” a senior BSF official told.
He said intermittent firing continued from across the border for around one-hour, adding, “own troops retaliated effectively with similar calibre weapons.” The official said no casualty, injury or damage to any property was reported in exchange of firing. Pakistan after a month-long lull, on Tuesday, violated ceasefire by targeting forward areas along the LoC in Saujiyan area of Poonch.
Pakistan in the months of July and August, violated the truce for more than 30 times on the International Border in which three BSF officials besides civilians were killed and over a dozen border residents and cattle got injured in cross-border firing.
Guns fell silent on both the sides since August 28 after DGMOs level meeting in New Delhi.
