Pak violates ceasefire

JAMMU, Nov 15: Pakistan army today again violated ceasefire along Line of Control (LoC) in Shahpur sector of Poonch district but failed to cause any casualties or damage.
Reports said Pakistan violated ceasefire by targeting forward Indian posts and villages with small and automatic arms and mortars at 8.15 am in Shahpur sector in Poonch district.
“The Indian troops retaliated very effectively to silence the Pakistani guns,” they said, adding that exchange of mortar shelling and firing continued for about 40 minutes.
There were no casualties or damage on the Indian side in Pakistan shelling and firing, reports said.
Pakistan has been resorting to occasional ceasefire violations on the LoC though there has been no major incident of shelling and firing in twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch during the past about a fortnight.
On November 2, Pakistani Rangers had fired at a Border Security Force (BSF) patrol in Samba sector on the International Border resulting in martyrdom of a BSF constable Tapan Mondal. In retaliatory firing by the BSF, two Pakistani Rangers were killed and their three posts were destroyed. Since then, there has been no ceasefire violation on the International Border.
