SRINAGAR, Nov 29: Pakistani troops this evening targeted Indian posts in Hajipeer sector of Uri in North Kashmir and Army retaliated.
Sources said that Pakistani troops targeted Indian forward posts near Silikote village in Uri sector leading to retaliation from Army. The troops from both the sides used mortars to target each others’ posts. Intermittent firing was going on till late in night.
Despite attack on Uri Army Brigade headquarters in August this year, the LoC had been calm here and this is for the first time that this sector has witnessed firing.
However, Macchil and Keran sectors in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district have been very hot in recent weeks post surgical strikes in September this year.
