SRINAGAR, May 26: “Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire for third consecutive day today in Nowgam sector of North Kashmir by firing at Indian posts while army also responded”, a senior Army officer said here.
The officer said: “Pakistani troops fired in Kayan Bowl area of Toot Mari Gali (TMG) Nowgam sector for third consecutive day today on Indian Army posts. “It was raining heavily in the area and visibility is almost zero. The Army is on high alert along the LoC in Nowgam sector after LoC firing which is normally aimed at providing cover to the infiltrating militants”, said the Army officer.
This is for the third consecutive day that Pakistani troops fired at Indian Army posted in the Kanyan Bowl area of Nowgam sector. The Pakistani troops started firing on the posts in the area on Friday evening that last upto Saturday morning. Indian Army also responded to the firing in the sector and Brigadier Sanjeev Langeh who commands TMG brigade and two soldiers were injured in Friday evening firing.

However, during the searches they found no traces of militants or any damage to the fence or any movement recorded by the thermal imaging devices and other sensors installed in the forward posts.
