Pak violates ceasefire twice

JAMMU, Jan 21: Pakistani Rangers violated the ceasefire twice by resorting to firing by small arms on Border out Posts (BoPs) along the International Border in Arnia sector since last night, prompting the BSF to retaliate.
“Pakistani Rangers resorted to intermittent small arms firing on Border out Posts along the IB in Arnia sector late last night, which continued till 7 am today”, official sources said.
BSF troops guarding the borderline retaliated resulting in intermittent exchanges but there was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the firing on the Indian side.
Again at 6 pm today, the Rangers fired at Pittal post of BSF, leading to exchanges for an hour but there was no damage.
The firing comes after BSF foiled an infiltration bid in the same sector yesterday.
On January 13, there was firing by Pakistani Rangers in Samba sector. Pakistan also resorted to firing of mortar shells and small arms along the IB in Hiranagar belt of Kathua district on January 11.
On January 6, there was ceasefire violation by Pakistan Rangers along the IB in Kathua district.
